Full-Time Paraplanner or Associate Planner
OLIO Financial Planning was founded with a rebellious, stubborn objective: to reinvent the industry by providing financial planning for all through a revolutionary fee structure. We don’t care how much clients have, but rather what they aspire to do with it. Our preference is for long-lasting relationships that are mutually rewarding. Fundamentally, we believe the client experience should look and feel completely different from what it does today – and that’s just what we’ve set out to do.
We're a unique group passionately pursuing the meaning of our clients’ money. Turning obstacles into opportunities. We’re intrigued by new challenges and unknowns. We’re creative, committed, and perhaps different. We ask lots of questions and feel collaboration is the glue that holds it all together.
What we do
We believe financial planning is more than the sum of its parts, and planning can only be done well by offering comprehensive advice across all six areas of financial planning. We aim to focus on all of them, and we make sure clients understand their money by prioritizing their ongoing education.
We love the details and nuances of planning. We dive deep into the technical pieces, whether it’s the language in an estate document, a new stock agreement, or the latest change to the tax code.
We’re proud to support clients at every stage of life - from individuals starting their financial journey to growing families, seasoned professionals, and retirees enjoying the fruits of their hard work. We believe finances should support and enhance clients’ lives – helping them to pursue what they care about.
We believe clients are best served when we put multiple heads together, so you’ll collaborate with other advisors on the team to brainstorm, share insights, and deliver the highest standard of advice. We’re a group of people prepared to roll up our sleeves to challenge the status quo and are dedicated to delivering an exceptional client experience.
What we need
We're seeking a passionate, detail-oriented, and hardworking Paraplanner or Associate Financial Planner to join our team.
This role is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys the technical side of financial planning - building plans, solving problems, researching strategies, and helping advisors deliver exceptional advice. Success in this role starts with strong planning and analytical skills, though there will be opportunities to participate in client meetings and, if desired, grow into a more client-facing role over time.
Whether you're an experienced paraplanner who loves the planning process or an associate planner looking to continue developing your skills, we'd love to hear from you.
We have two office locations, one on the outskirts of Washington, DC in Tysons Corner, VA, and the other in the mountains of southwest Virginia in Blacksburg. We also work remotely.
While our preference is for this position to be based in our Blacksburg, VA office, we’re open to a remote arrangement for the right person. Preference will be given to those located in VA, NC, SC, TN, or PA, where we already have teammates. Periodic travel to Blacksburg for team meetings, training, and collaboration may be required. Salary is commensurate with experience and may vary based on location.
